The benefits of an EV fleet
With an EV fleet, you can lower your operating costs, reduce maintenance, and support your company’s sustainability goals. Plus, electric vehicles can last longer than non-electric vehicles.
- Lower Operating Costs - Fleet electrification can make good financial sense, as EVs cost less to maintain, and you don’t have to plan for the volatility of fuel prices. Electricity prices are more stable, so companies can budget fueling costs with confidence. Plus, EV batteries are covered by a minimum warranty of 8 years or 100,000 miles.
- Simplified Maintenance - Since EVs have fewer moving parts, there’s less opportunity for things to go wrong. There is no oil, spark plugs, or transmission fluid to change, and they have a longer brake life. This means lower maintenance costs for an electric vehicle fleet. Windshield wiper fluid and tires are generally the only things that EVs require as routine maintenance.
- Meet Sustainability Goals - Take the lead in cleaner operation and maintenance. Meet your sustainability goals and stand out in your community. An electric vehicle fleet can help you reach your company’s sustainability goals by decreasing CO2 and other harmful greenhouse gases.
- Performance – EVs offer instant torque, providing quick, smooth, responsive acceleration. Electric vehicle batteries also provide a low center of gravity which improves handling, responsiveness and ride comfort.
Consider the charging requirements for your fleet.
Start planning for your charging needs as early possible to ensure you have a cost-effective system that is right sized for your fleet. Proper planning will usually require coordination with your vehicle and/or charging equipment provider, a licensed electrician, and Tampa Electric. We’ll work with you and your equipment providers to help ensure we’re ready to serve your vehicles when they arrive, and in the future as you expand your electric fleet.
